The Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology of the Islamic Azad University of Isfahan (Khorasgan) announced the inclusion of this university among the greenest universities in the country for the second consecutive year.

In an interview with Anna News Agency in Isfahan, Majid Toghyani, referring to the issue of sustainable development, said: Based on the 2020 edition of the Global Green Metric University Rankings in the field of sustainable development, the two Islamic Azad Universities, Science and Research Branch and Isfahan Branch (Khorasgan) ranked first and second, respectively, among Islamic Azad Universities across the country.

He pointed out: Greenmetric is one of the ranking databases that is responsible for ranking green universities and the rating system of this database has been set up with the aim of providing a comprehensive view of conditions and policies related to the environment and sustainable development and energy consumption in universities of different countries.

The head of the Research and Technology Council of the Islamic Azad University of Isfahan added: "Environment and infrastructure, energy and climate change, transportation, waste management, water and education are the criteria used in this ranking system to compare institutions."
